Atlantic Re Supports Moroccan and African Markets with a Dedicated Cyber Insurance Seminar

Atlantic Re, through its Atlantic Re Academy foundation, organized a two-day seminar on Cyber Insurance on November 20 and 21 in Casablanca, for the benefit of its clients and partners — including insurers, brokers, and end clients such as industrial companies and banking institutions from Morocco and Africa. Over one hundred participants attended the event.

Held under the theme "Cyber Insurance: an essential lever to build tomorrow's digital resilience", the training was structured in two complementary sessions: the first day focused on cybersecurity and was led by Youssef Agoumi, Managing Partner at FORMIND Africa & Middle East — specializing in Risk Management and Information Security; the second day centered on cyber insurance solutions and was led by Ezechiel Seymenouh, who brings over 10 years of insurance broking experience (Marsh, WTW), with a particular focus on financial lines and cyber insurance.

IFRS 17 seminar organized by ATLANTIC RE ACADEMY in collaboration with AKI (Association of Kenyan Insurers)

As part of its efforts to promote ATLANTIC RE's expertise in Africa, with a particular focus on East Africa, the ATLANTIC RE ACADEMY organized a seminar in collaboration with AKI (Association of Kenyan Insurers) on IFRS 17, held from November 29 to 30, 2022, in Nairobi, Kenya. The event provided an opportunity to discuss this important topic and to further introduce ATLANTIC RE to the Kenyan insurance and reinsurance market as an expert offering technical training solutions to current industry challenges. This seminar was carried out in implementation of the agreements formalized following the signing of the AKI‑ATLANTIC RE partnership at the last OAA conference in 2022, as stipulated in Article 7, which defines the collaboration between the two entities in terms of training and knowledge sharing. This edition was enriched by the quality and technical expertise of both the speakers and the participants from the insurance and reinsurance industry.

Seminar on the chemical and hydrocarbon industry: Introduction to processes, specific risks, and risk management

ATLANTIC RE ACADEMY organized a seminar on October 19 and 20 in Abidjan under the theme "Chemical and Hydrocarbon Industry: Introduction to Processes, Specific Risks, and Risk Management," led by Mr. Mohamed TAHIRI.
This event was an opportunity to exchange views on the technical expertise related to this topic.
This seminar is a continuation of African collaborations in Côte d'Ivoire and the region, and led to further forms of partnership as well as opportunities for exchanges and joint efforts among African insurance and reinsurance players.

Seminar on Takaful and Retakaful: Perspectives and regulations

Atlantic Re Academy, in partnership with SEN Re, organized a seminar on October 5 and 6, 2022, at the Hyatt Regency, under the theme: Takaful and Retakaful, perspectives and regulations, led by participatory finance and Takaful expert Dr. Ahmed Tahiri Jouti.
The event was also an opportunity to discover ATLANTIC RE's Retakaful window, which aims to support all national and regional operators in their development by providing expertise and financial strength.

Webinar on security risks: Political violence & terrorism

ATLANTIC RE ACADEMY organized a webinar on April 20, 2022, under the theme "Security Risks: Political Violence & Terrorism," which was attended by more than 150 people from the insurance and reinsurance industry.
The training was delivered by Ms. Anne Giudicelli, a renowned expert, and provided participants with an opportunity to better understand security and political risks and their typologies, as well as their importance in insurance coverage.

Launch of the ATLANTIC RE Training Program

ATLANTIC RE ACADEMY organized a seminar from March 15 to 17, 2022, under a new format called "Atlantic Re Training Program" for the benefit of its clients.

This event was not only an opportunity to exchange views on the technical expertise developed by Atlantic Re for its partners, but also a chance for dialogue and joint efforts among African insurance and reinsurance players.

This edition saw the participation of our partners from the Ethiopian insurance company AWACH.

Webinar on large-scale claims management

ATLANTIC RE ACADEMY organized a webinar on December 7, 2021, under the theme "Large-Scale Claims Management," which was attended by more than 200 people from the insurance and reinsurance industry.

The training was delivered by Mr. Jean Philippe MELANO, a renowned expert, and provided participants with an opportunity to better understand the partnership between insurers and loss adjusters, as well as its importance in managing claims arising from natural disasters.
